Welcombe - contemporary design with a sea view

This room is brand new for Autumn 2020 and situated beside our gardens with a beautiful view across the lawn towards our authentic thatched inn. The room is named after our closest beach (Welcombe Mouth). Welcombe is a modern space  with its own sheltered veranda boasting views on a clear day to the coast in the distance (a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive away) and over our rural surrounds - listed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  The room is an en suite double with a contemporary bathroom featuring underfloor heating and a large walk-in shower. Welcombe has wifi and is decorated to a very high standard.  Breakfast can be taken in the room or in the inn between 8:30am and 9:30am as you wish.  Our delicious food is prepared fresh to order from the Old Smithy kitchens and lunch and dinner can be booked in advance with packed lunches also available for those setting out on a day of adventure! Welcombe and the Old Smithy Inn are your ideal base for activities as diverse as walking (directly from our door), kayaking, cycling, fishing, art, pottery-making etc as well as exploration of North Devon and Cornwall (we are situated right by the border). The Nook - Cosy and Traditional

Want to get away from it all? The Nook is a cosy bolt-hole converted from the oldest building on our site (originally an agricultural outhouse).  Hunkered down with it's own entrance to the site at the end of our lawns the Nook is a super-cosy retreat from the world - guests can enjoy the conviviality of the pub with a crackling log stove in Winter and gorgeous split-level beer garden/ sun deck in Summer and then retire to their own private enclave complete with beautifully appointed double bedroom and contemporary, newly-fitted washroom.
