Smithy Fest is Back!!!  July 10th and 11th @ The Old Smithy Inn (EX39 6HG) - Limited numbers

Yes folks after a fallow year (I wonder why?!) the mighty Smithy Fest (a little beer garden Music/Ale/Cider and Food Festival like no other) is back on track this year in our famous thatched pub on the beautiful North Devon coast just a stones throw from the Devon/Cornwall border. The event (including outdoor bars - bring cash!) will be out in the fresh air this year (so dress wisely for all weathers especially evening temperature dips). We have a mouth-watering line up of musical talent over two days in the biggest and best beer garden in Devon. 

Jack Bessant (of Reef fame), Captain Accident and the Disasters (British Reggae worthy of a supporting the last Toots and the Maytals uk tour), Lewis Floyd Henry (Youtube and festival sensation - a genuine one-man band channelling Hendrix, Lemmy and Biggie with his unique mash-up style and virtuoso guitar shredding, the infectious club vibes of Hong Kong Ping Pong, raw rock energy from The Mother Vultures, eclectic local Legends the Moonmen, the toe-tapping Dusk at Dawns, down from Bristol the mighty Clusterfunk, bringing back the spirit of the Man in Black the Johnny Cash Tribute Band, the beautiful and original songs of Ezmay Grace, local towering totems of music Bos and Dave and the communal voice of traditional folk from the Smithy Folk Band.

So after a harrowing winter pent up in our homes this is Smithy Fest ’ 21 - big enough to be an exciting boutique event and small enough to ensure everyone’s safety as they enjoy what may be one of the few live music experiences of the Summer!

Those who have been around since 2018 when we took over Smithy Fest know the drill - its all about enlisting your help to bring amazing live music to a venue where it would never otherwise be on this scale for one glorious weekend per year -  the entire site is closed for the weekend (no regular pub, no drop-in drinkers, no Sunday Lunches).  The event is only for ticket holders who will receive a festival wristband when they show proof of purchase on entry - tickets can be bought through this link. We will be capping the number of tickets to keep the size sensible. Tickets are deliberately priced to make weekender options the best value as we want everyone to enjoy themselves but also to travel to and from in safety. Considering the price of a movie ticket or a city car park nowadays and considering the quality of the line-up we know our tickets represent amazing value - as always we are a rural venue and it is advisable to bring cash for our outdoor bars and ale/cider tent. A special menu of high quality festival foods will be available from our kitchens throughout both days.

Folk, Singer-songwriters, Rock, Reggae, Mad Metal/ Rap mash-ups and major Club DJs… We start slow and chilled and build up each day to make it a weekend to remember.

Parking will be available but quite limited onsite and on a first come first served basis - a portion of the carpark will be reserved for bands so please remember this and get a lift/arrange to be picked up, to camp locally (there are many options) or to walk from your accommodation where possible. Our BnB is booked out for the weekend and we don’t ourselves (sadly!) have capacity for camping onsite.

The event will start from midday each day and go on until later in the evening. We can’t wait to welcome you all!
